Travelling to the island of Hvar

Reaching the island of Hvar is straightforward, especially during the summer when several major European airports have direct flights to Split and Dubrovnik. The nearest airports to the island are Split and Dubrovnik. There are also overnight ferries from Ancona and Bari to Split and Dubrovnik respectively.

The simplest way to come to Sućuraj (for those not already located on the island of Hvar) is by ferry from Drvenik on the Makarska Riviera.
The ferry takes 30 minutes; it leaves 6 times a day in winter and 10 or 11 times a day by summer timetable. If necessary, when it is very busy, which is often the case during the height of the season, the ferry leaves more frequently. The ferry dock in Sućuraj is located near the town centre.
